Fun Children’s Books About Emotions and Mindset

The Forest Tribe Series

Six fun and cool characters who live life, make mistakes and feel all of the emotions.

Meet the Author and Illustrator

Hi! I’m Melissa. When I’m not sweating it out in the sauna, I’m usually found staring into space wondering how on earth I ended up in the Nordics…

Ever since I was little, I’ve wanted to write and create stories. When I was 8 years old, I ‘published’ my first. My teacher believed in me and placed the story in our little school library! I think three people borrowed that book! Many years later, I’m still writing…

The stars of this series are a cool crew of Finnish forest animals. They make mistakes, feel all of the emotions but they ‘keep on keeping on’. A lot like all of us really!

My hope for these stories is to inspire ‘kindfulness’ AND mindfulness in the face of life’s inevitable big emotional challenges.

And I’m Timo. When I am not playing with my gorgeous dog, I love to draw and create. For the past ten years, I have been working in graphic design. Both in the publishing and advertising industries.

Working on this project has been such fun. In some magical way, the characters have a life of their own and I'm excited about where our imaginations will take them next.
